Our Guest Chef program at both the Memorial Road House and Garrison Tower House invites individuals, families, businesses and community groups to prepare and serve dinner for families staying at the House while their child receives medical care.
Your time in the kitchen helps create a comforting, family-style moment in the middle of a difficult day.
Pickup Volunteers help ensure Ronald McDonald House OKC has the food, supplies, and donated items needed to serve guest families by transporting approved donations and purchases to our two Ronald McDonald House locations.
Pet Therapy Volunteers and their certified therapy animals provide comfort, companionship, and positive interaction for families experiencing the stress of a child’s illness or injury, while also offering moments of encouragement and stress relief for staff.
Welcome Desk Volunteers support the daily operations of the Ronald McDonald House or Ronald McDonald House Family Room by extending hospitality, assisting families, and completing assigned administrative duties.
Special Events Volunteers support Ronald McDonald House Oklahoma City’s fundraising and community-engagement events. Funds raised through these events help keep families close to their seriously ill or injured children and the medical care they need.
Events include:
• Red Shoe Rendezvous — Ronald McDonald House OKC’s annual signature fundraising event, featuring an evening of activities and support for guest families.
• Clays for a Cause — Ronald McDonald House OKC’s clay shoot fundraising event.
Professional services volunteers donate specialized skills that enhance the well-being of guest families or support Ronald McDonald House OKC operations. Services may include licensed salon services, wellness services, photography, translation, technology assistance, training, or other staff-approved expertise.
Family activities volunteers plan and lead welcoming, optional activities that give children and caregivers opportunities to relax, create positive memories, and enjoy time together.
Guest referral volunteers provide carefully supervised administrative assistance with the referral process so Ronald McDonald House staff can respond efficiently to families seeking accommodations. This is a non-decision-making role involving sensitive information.
All volunteer roles should include completion of Ronald McDonald House Oklahoma City orientation, adherence to confidentiality and professional-boundary expectations, and compliance with applicable House, Family Room, hospital, food-safety, and infection-control policies. Volunteers should never provide medical advice, independently supervise children, photograph families without authorization, or communicate privately with guests outside their volunteer duties.
